What you will be doing- Supervises location Quality Inspectors (IDL)/Engineers in the performance of their job duties.
- Designs and audits a control system that monitors the quality of the product from design, purchase and test of materials, process control, inspection, and testing of the final product; identifies and records exceptions and assists in determining corrective actions.
- Manages the quality management system by auditing costs based on quality prevention costs, appraisal costs, and failure costs.
- Leads and participates in internal and external quality audits such as ISO 9001, AS 9100, ISO 13485, and IATF 16949.
- Negotiates new customer requirements regarding the administration of the quality program when necessary.
- Establishes and implements product evaluation plans for production, including inspection methods, sampling plans, and defect classification.
- Initiates documentation and control programs for quality procedures and processes.
- Manages approved vendor lists, reviews supplier PPAPs, and handles supplier discrepancies.
- Directs and approves the product evaluation plan for the location.
- Leads continuous improvement projects to enhance process efficiency and accuracy.
- Initiates quality‑training programs for staff and management, including statistical process control.
- Examines customer quotation requests and specifications to determine quality system adequacy.
- Audits and analyzes customer complaints and field reports, identifies causes, and communicates corrective actions.
- Conducts customer surveys of company facilities regarding the location quality program.
- Handles quality reporting, including customer returns, response time, cost of poor quality, MRBs, and related metrics.
- Occasional travel to other Vishay facilities to support internal audits and develop standardized procedures.
- Occasional travel to customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues or perform audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent with an emphasis on quality systems.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with employees at all levels and external stakeholders.
- Capability to become a certified Internal Auditor in medical, aerospace, and automotive sectors.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, MINITAB, and Excel.
- Understanding of statistical process control techniques used in manufacturing.
- Two to five years of related experience.
- Experience with ISO 9001:2015, IATF 16949:2016, or AS 9100:2016 preferred but not required.
