Job SummaryCF Industries invites Process Engineers to join our world‑class production facility in Yazoo City, Mississippi. The Process Engineer will provide process engineering expertise in collaboration with engineering disciplines, operations, maintenance, and EHS to enhance the safe, efficient, reliable, and environmentally friendly operation of the Ammonia plant.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful Process Engineer will keep and maintain all technical information, monitor, and report operational performance for the process units and key variables impacting plant efficiency, capacity, performance, emissions, and process safety.
They will proactively evaluate process KPIs and equipment performance to reduce plant upsets and generate solutions to resolve problems with process chemistry and equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, heat exchangers, absorbers, strippers, boilers, combustion equipment, reactors, and high‑pressure steam systems.
They will proactively optimize process performance through troubleshooting, process modeling, data analysis, process tests, and technical support to the operations organization.
They will complete process engineering studies and provide comprehensive support during collaborative design of new installations and processes.
They will develop and manage small capital projects to increase production capacity, improve energy efficiency, and enhance EHS performance.
They will prepare and review documents such as PFDs, P&IDs, scopes of work, and equipment specifications to support the capital process.
They will review and approve new operational procedures and equipment operating limits, and conduct training for operations and other groups.
They will participate in MOCs, PHAs, LOPA studies, and incident investigations to implement process safety and EHS solutions.
They will assist maintenance and operations during turnarounds by providing pre‑turnaround recommendations, planning specialty work, performing equipment inspections, and coordinating catalyst replacements.
They will maintain excellent communication and professional relationships with all departments and plant personnel.
Qualifications- BS degree in Engineering from an ABET‑accredited university.
- 4–7 years of experience in a process engineering role (manufacturing preferred).
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal) and ability to interact with personnel throughout the organization.
- Willingness to collect field data, enter process equipment for inspections, and otherwise perform routine field engineering work in an operating chemical facility environment.
- Ability and willingness to work alternative schedules on a short‑term basis to support 24/7 operations, particularly during startup, shutdown, upsets, and catalyst reductions.
The Process Engineer will provide design engineering and troubleshooting services, leading to improvements in personnel safety, environmental stewardship, production rates, efficiency, and product quality.
