The duties and responsibilities of the Registered Nurse – Charge Nurse include the planning, directing and supervising of resident care, providing direct nursing care to residents, and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and orderlies within United Methodist Senior Services. Care and supervision will be in accordance with state and federal rules and regulations and as outlined in established policies and procedures, to maximize fulfilling the care-giving needs of residents.

The person holding this position is delegated the responsibility for carrying out the assigned duties and responsibilities.

Plan, direct and supervise resident care; provide direct nursing care to residents; supervise day-to-day nursing activities performed by licensed practical nurses and nursing assistants and orderlies; ensure compliance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

DAY SHIFT

Preferred Qualifications

• RN degree from an accredited nursing program, college or university.
• At least two years of experience in a hospital, long-term care facility, or other health care institution, with training or experience implementing total patient care and care planning, and in making sound nursing judgments.
• Knowledge of State Department of Health and federal guidelines.
• Courses in nursing management or supervision and in rehabilitative and restorative nursing.
• Membership in professional association(s).

Minimum Qualifications

• Minimum of 21 years old.
