Experienced Producer

Position: Experienced Assignment Producer Needed
Join CBC North as an Assignment Producer in Yellowknife and drive impactful storytelling across various media platforms. Guide a team of reporters to deliver timely news and insights that resonate with Canadian audiences.

This full-time, on-site role at CBC/Radio-Canada is ideal for a seasoned journalist with a passion for news. As the lead for the late shift, you'll develop and oversee news coverage while mentoring reporters for quality storytelling. Strong organizational skills and a solid editorial judgment are essential for thriving in this dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate breaking news coverage with your team

• Edit and vet broadcast copy and stories

• Initiate and develop original story ideas

• Collaborate with producers for newscast preparation

• Engage with local communities to enhance news representation

Requirements:

• Minimum five years of journalistic experience

• Expertise in CBC journalistic standards and practices

• Excellent mentoring and coaching abilities

• Valid driver’s license with satisfactory record

• Indigenous language knowledge considered an asset
