Tax Policy Analyst at Department of Finance

This integral role requires hands-on experience in tax policy analysis, revenue forecasting, and economic impacts on the NWT's economy and residents. Reporting to the Manager of Tax Policy, you will guide fiscal planning and advise senior management on policy recommendations to advance GNWT objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze taxation issues and economic trends for policy development

• Develop models for forecasting major tax streams accurately

• Evaluate effects of tax initiatives on the local economy and government

• Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for decision-makers

• Interpret tax legislation and recommend policy changes aligned with GNWT goals

Requirements:

• University degree in a related field

• Two years of experience in public finance or fiscal policy analysis

• Experience in economic and fiscal analysis, including revenue forecasting

• Ability to write reports for senior decision-makers

• Graduate degree may substitute for experience
