Policy Analyst Specializing in Taxation

Reporting directly to the Manager of Tax Policy, this role requires in-depth knowledge of evidence-based tax policy analysis, revenue forecasting, and economic research. You will assess the implications of taxation issues on residents and businesses while providing strategic advice to government leadership, thereby influencing GNWT's fiscal planning efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze economic trends to inform tax policy development

• Create forecasting models for various tax streams

• Assess implications of tax initiatives on the economy and revenue

• Generate briefing notes and reports for senior management

• Monitor tax legislation and advocate policy enhancements

Requirements:

• Degree in a related field such as Economics or Public Administration

• Minimum two years' experience in fiscal policy analysis

• Skills in legislative analysis and report writing preferred

• Experience with financial modelling and revenue forecasting

• Equivalent graduate degree may be considered
