NWT Mining Industry General Manager

Become the General Manager for the NWT Chamber of Mines and impact local mining operations from Yellowknife. Spearhead initiatives to enhance mining practices and relationships.

This full-time role involves leading the Chamber’s strategies to promote and develop the mining sector in the NWT. Reporting directly to the Ottawa CEO, the GM will ensure efficient program delivery, advise the Board, and maintain essential community contacts. With an emphasis on collaboration, you will engage diverse groups to promote sustainable mining practices in the region.

Key Responsibilities:

• Direct the execution of the Chamber’s strategic plan

• Engage with government and Indigenous organizations

• Act as a contact point for the NWT mining sector

• Prepare reports and correspondence for decision-making

• Organize and plan community events related to mining

Requirements:

• Degree in relevant fields such as mining or business

• Experience working in governance and policy development

• Strong ties to Northern communities and cultures

• Proven ability to manage budgets and applications

• Fluency in written and verbal communication
