Conservation Biologist

Position: Full-Time Conservation Biologist
Join the Wek’èezhìı Renewable Resources Board as a full-time Conservation Biologist for an 18-month term in Yellowknife. Contribute to wildlife and plant management through scientific research and monitoring.
This position requires a Bachelor or Master of Science Degree in Environmental Sciences with at least three years of relevant experience. As a Conservation Biologist, you will provide crucial research and management advice on species at risk and protected areas. Flexibility for travel and varying work hours, including weekends, is necessary to serve communities within Wek’èezhìı.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct scientific research on species and habitats

• Provide technical reviews and analyze environmental data

• Offer management advice on forest and plant resources

• Collaborate with northern communities on conservation efforts

• Participate in frequent travel using small aircraft
Requirements:

• Bachelor or Master of Science in Environmental Sciences

• Minimum 3 years in renewable resource research

• Strong analytical and communication skills

• Experience in cross-cultural settings is preferred

• Ability to meet medical and criminal background checks
