Job DescriptionWe're looking for Plumber to join our multidisciplinary team at the New Stanton hospital in Yellowknife, NWT!
The principal responsibilities of the Plumber are to inspect, install, repair, and replace pipes, fittings and plumbing fixtures to maintain domestic hot and cold-water system, heating water system, medical gas piping system, drainage system and hospital-related plumbing fixtures such as sterilizers, macerators, etc., throughout the hospital including patient rooms and treatment areas. The Plumber performs an effective preventive maintenance schedule and ensures all mechanical systems and equipment are in good working conditions.

- This is a Hands-On role
- This role requires a Journeyman Plumbing ticket. Other trades/tickets are always a bonus
- The Plumber also makes rounds in the mechanical rooms and responds to all trouble calls from various departments throughout the hospital, rectifies or isolates the problems and ensures continuity of their related operation
- This position works Monday to Friday 40 hours per week and is on-call as requested by Manager
- The Plumber will ensure policies and procedures are properly executed
- Represent the department with a positive and professional attitude
- Completes assigned tasks in a professional manner and closes the work orders within the required time‑frame as per Response Time Policy
- Communicates the work status with the client groups via Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) within the time frame given in Response Time Policy
- Adheres to and promotes the Occupational Health and Safety legislative and corporate requirements
- Keeps and maintains records as required
- Participates in educational programs and In‑Service training
What we’re looking for:
- A Great Attitude!
- Licensed Plumber
- 3-5+ years’ experience in a similar position (ideally in a hospital or healthcare setting)
- Solid communication ability (verbal and written)
- Ability to read and comprehend mechanical, electrical and control drawings
- Solid computer proficiency, MS Office, CMMS, etc.
- Knowledge of Building Automation System (BAS), Plant systems (Chiller, boiler, water treatment, etc.) & fire alarm/safety system, pneumatic tube, and Medical Gas System
- On‑call availability for technical support as required
- A background Vulnerable Sector Screening is required.
- Possess a trade ticket.
- Healthcare and/or Hospital experience.
