£35,000 - £42,000

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Forklift Engineer to join a well-established and growing manufacturing company in the Somerset area!
Working within a modern manufacturing facility, the Forklift Engineer will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety and performance of the site's material handling fleet. This position offers excellent job security, ongoing training and genuine opportunities for career progression.
Role & Responsibilities:- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on forklift trucks and material handling equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimise operational downtime.
- Complete inspections and ensure all equipment complies with safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and service documentation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Liaise with production, warehouse and engineering teams to prioritise repairs and maintenance activities.
- Assist with the installation, commissioning and upgrade of equipment when required.
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience working as a Forklift Engineer, Plant Engineer or Service Engineer.
- Strong mechanical, electrical and hydraulic fault-finding skills.
- Experience maintaining forklift trucks, reach trucks, counterbalance trucks or similar material handling equipment.
- Relevant engineering qualification desirable (Mechanical, Electrical or Maintenance Engineering).
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
- Strong understanding of health and safety practices within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- £35,000 - £42,000 Basic Salary
