The successful candidate will drive new business creation in ASEAN & India, using Murata's regional open innovation platform KUMIHIMO as a key channel. The role will manage the end-to-end platform while also creating and validating new businesses and new channels through KUMIHIMO and beyond, with relevant internal and external stakeholders.
KeyDuties & Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage annual KUMIHIMO open innovation platform strategy, target domains, challenge statements, roadmap, budget, governance and KPIs.
- Identify market needs and business challenges in ASEAN & India with internal marketing and technology teams and translate them into new business themes.
- Create new businesses and new channels via KUMIHIMO by matching external technologies and partners with Murata capabilities and market needs.
- Develop new business opportunities in ASEAN & India beyond KUMIHIMO through customer discovery, partner exploration and early business validation.
- Design and facilitate co-creation activities and build relationships with startups, universities, research institutes, accelerators, public agencies, investors and technical experts.
- Maintain the opportunity pipeline, report outcomes and transition validated opportunities into new business creation projects with a clear next-step roadmap.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, technology, business or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in new business development, open innovation, technology commercialization or strategic program management.
- Experience in leading cross-functional, multi-stakeholder programs and managing external partnerships.
- Ability to assess technology-market fit and develop initial commercial and financial business cases.
- Strong analytical, project management, facilitation, communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proactive and resilient attitude, cultural agility and networking ability across startups, academia, industry experts and internal domain experts.
