Job Description
Salary range $61K - $80K Annual
Job Description:
Provide support to the Project Manager(s) and the Deputy Project Manager(s) as related to project management and its various activities.
- 1. Interface with KRC affiliates ("Kawasaki Railcar Manufacturing" (KRM) and "Kawasaki Motors Manufacturing" (KMM)), customers and vendors to support project activities.
- 2. Utilize the document, drawing control procedures and practices (including record drawings).
- 3. Periodically audit the correspondence and drawings database to ensure that they are correctly entered and kept.
- 4. Maintain & follow-up on the status of open items (between Kawasaki & the customer, Kawasaki & the vendors, and internal departments), including tracking and closure of them.
- 5. Attend project and design review meetings with customer and vendors, as necessary, and maintain the meeting minutes.
- 6. Support project scheduler in communicating with KRC's affiliates (Kawasaki Railcar Manufacturing (KRM) and Kawasaki Motorcycle Manufacturing (KMM)) on the status of master project schedule.
- 7. Support deputy project manager(s) to manage vendor(s) for closure of open items and keeping document submittal and equipment/parts delivery schedule.
- 8. Prepare and/or edit project letters, including drawing submittals, prior to their release to customer and vendor(s).
- 9. Maintain the Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs). Follow-up on the status of pending CDRLs.
- 10. Prepare and track Engineering Changes (EDs);
Charge Back to vendors;
Field Modification Instructions (FMIs);
Requests for Clarification forms; invoice status to customers; and Monthly Progress Report for the customer. - 11. Track status of wavier requests, samples and other project statistics as required.
- 12. Prepares the monthly progress report to the customer.
- 13. Manages customer badge and other safety training courses as required by the customer.
- 1. Associates or Bachelor's Degree a plus.
- 2. Knowledge of prior experience in the railcar industry or closely related industry is preferred.
- 3. Must be detailed-oriented, organized, and proactive with strong problem solving ability.
- 4. Must have strong computer skills and have excellent verbal and written communication skills
