SITE SAFETY COORDINATOR

Yonkers Contracting Company is seeking a qualified Site Safety Coordinator with 3-5 years of Heavy Highway/Civil, Utility, and MPT work. Safety is a Shared Responsibility and Yonkers Contracting Company, has an opportunity for a Site Safety Coordinator to join our team!

• Effectively implement site-specific safety program
• Monitor employees & subcontractors’ adherence to the site-specific safety & health plan
• Conduct site-safety orientation for all employees assigned to the site
• Conduct and/or coordinate worker training, maintain training records
• Hazard anticipation, recognition, evaluation and control through the development of JHA’s
• Ensure proper use of personal safety protective equipment
• Conduct daily safety inspection and weekly Safety Toolbox Talks
• Investigate and report all accidents
• Maintain all safety related documentation
• Perform audits: inspect project site(s), MPT set-up, and site equipment, ensure compliance documentation
• Provide technical guidance and coaching
• Support project specific safety efforts and promote Yonkers Contracting Safety First culture

• Site Safety Experience with owners such as; CTDOT, NYS DOT, MTA, FHWA
• Site Safety Coordinator Certification
• OSHA 30
• 40 Hour Hazwopper certification
• 3-5 years of construction safety experience
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Thorough knowledge of state/government safety regulations
• Experience with MPT Set-up in accordance with MUTCD and Work Zone Safety
• Computer Skills are essential – Word and Excel
• Must have valid driver’s license (will require authorization for a motor vehicle report)
• Ability to take direction, prioritize, execute, and problem solve in a high-pressure environment; must be highly organized and work effectively within given time constraints
• Demonstrate effective communication skills, capable of supporting multiple projects, interpersonal skills. Exhibits positivity, passion, integrity, and responsibility
• Self-motivated; team oriented with collaborative work style
• Willing to work nights and weekends when required
