Position: Academic Success Coach, Alpha - $150,000/year USD
Location: City of Yonkers

You hold the view that refusing to lower expectations is the most generous act you can offer a student. Your background includes competing, creating, or excelling at a level few ever experience firsthand: elite-level sports, graduation with honors from a top university, employment at a highly selective organization, or launching a venture from the ground up. Now imagine channeling that drive into a setting where K-12 students gain access to a mentor of your caliber—someone who will push them toward standards they never imagined reaching.

If the idea of maintaining elite expectations feels too demanding, this isn't for you.

Alpha leverages AI-driven 1-on-1 instruction so students complete core academics in roughly two hours per day. The rest of their time is devoted to life skills, passion projects, and meaningful development. At Alpha's most rigorous campuses, students require more than oversight. They need a trusted coach whose personal track record sets the benchmark: someone capable of gauging group dynamics, establishing expectations, and guiding them through resistance, distraction, and doubt.

Your role is not instructional. AI delivers the academic content. Your responsibility is to inspire, coach, and enforce the same rigorous standards you've applied to yourself. Forty percent of your time is spent in direct 1-on-1 and small-group sessions that identify obstacles and establish ambitious targets. Another forty percent involves facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery rather than engagement alone.

The final twenty percent is dedicated to morning sessions that set daily expectations and cultivate a culture intolerant of mediocrity.

The trajectory here emphasizes depth over advancement. You begin by mastering Alpha's approach and earning student trust. Within months, you become the person they allow to challenge them beyond their perceived limits. The return isn't upward mobility. It's continuity with the same students over years, staying in their corner as they mature. It's observing a student who avoided eye contact in September deliver a confident presentation to adults in May.

This position remains student-centered. Students are the purpose, not a platform for career progression. If your motivation to leave your current role is mission-driven rather than resume-driven, apply now.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Conducting 1-on-1 and small-group coaching sessions leveraging Coachbot analytics and student performance data to identify barriers, establish ambitious objectives, and ensure accountability for execution.
  • Facilitating structured life-skills workshops designed for mastery by drawing on credible narratives from your own high-achievement background, then evaluating mastery via Alpha's Test2

    Pass framework.
  • Establishing the campus cultural tone each morning through focused sessions that reinforce high-performance standards.
  • Monitoring student progress continuously and modifying coaching approaches based on data rather than intuition.
  • Cultivating trusted mentor relationships with students and families by maintaining high standards, consistency, and documented plans for motivation.
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Delivering lessons, creating curriculum, or evaluating assignments — Alpha's AI-powered academic system manages instruction; you manage motivation.
  • Presenting to a full classroom of 30 students (your work centers on high-touch coaching in smaller settings, not large-group instruction).
  • Supervising other staff or pursuing an administrative career path (this role prioritizes direct student impact over organizational advancement).
  • Attending faculty meetings or dealing with institutional bureaucracy (your schedule remains student-focused).
  • Compromising standards to meet targets (if a student achieved 99%, your task is determining what prevented 100%).
