About Our Organization

The REALTORS® Land Institute (RLI), The Voice of Land, is seeking a motivated association professional with experience in instructional design, content development, and managing subject matter experts to help advance RLI’s educational offerings. RLI, a commercial affiliate of the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR), is a professional membership organization for REALTORS® who specialize in land real estate. We have approximately 2,000 members across the country, an annual budget of $1.8+M, and a staff of six.

Overview

This role develops and designs new courses and educational offerings while also leading the project management of subject matter experts, instructional design consultants, and members involved in curriculum development. The role oversees the ongoing review and enhancement of existing curriculum and drives the creation of new educational opportunities to advance RLI’s educational priorities, goals, and objectives. This position works closely with our Education Manager and reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Curriculum & Instructional Design

  • Lead the design, development, revision, and maintenance of educational content across self-directed eLearning, classroom, and virtual instructor-led formats.
  • Apply instructional design, adult learning, accessibility, and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles to create engaging and effective learning experiences.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, including learning objectives, syllabi, assessments, exams, storyboards, participant materials, and instructor/facilitator resources.
  • Review existing curriculum for accuracy, consistency, relevance, accessibility, and overall quality.
  • Use learner, instructor, stakeholder, and assessment feedback to evaluate course effectiveness and guide improvements.
  • Identify opportunities for new courses and learning solutions in partnership with the CEO and Education Manager.

SME & Content Partner Management

  • Identify, recruit, onboard, coordinate, and support SMEs, instructional design consultants, volunteers, and other content contributors.
  • Establish clear expectations, timelines, templates, and processes for course development and revision.
  • Guide SMEs in translating their expertise into clear, structured, learner-centered educational content.
  • Facilitate collaboration and alignment among stakeholders throughout the development process.

Project & Process Management

  • Manage multiple course development and revision projects simultaneously, including project plans, timelines, milestones, dependencies, and deadlines.
  • Coordinate work across staff, SMEs, consultants, volunteers, and vendors to keep projects moving forward.
  • Establish and continuously improve standards, workflows, templates, and procedures for efficient and consistent course development and maintenance.
  • Provide input into budgets for course development, revisions, instructional design resources, and related initiatives.

Continuing Education & Learning Operations

  • Partner with the Education Manager to support RLI chapters and members seeking CE credit for RLI coursework.
  • Provide backup support for course setup, testing, quality assurance, and maintenance within RLI’s Learning Management System (Blue Sky).

Collaboration

  • Work closely with the Education Manager and other RLI staff on course launches, curriculum updates, member engagement, marketing, and organizational initiatives.
  • Contribute instructional design, curriculum, and learning technology expertise to cross-functional projects.
  • Perform other related responsibilities and special projects as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, adult education, communication, or a related field.
