Position SummaryGPTech is seeking Resource Efficiency Managers (REM) to support the U.S. Department of Defense (DOD). The REM will work at DOD facilities worldwide, supporting federal energy managers in achieving the energy management requirements as specified in energy laws, regulations, policy, guidance, and directives.
Responsibilities may include facility energy management activities, including utility data management and reporting, energy meter data analysis, energy program management, technical advice and support for energy management and building automation projects, and training.
The REM will provide expertise to identify infrastructure energy improvements to reduce energy and water utilization to meet energy and water security, resilience, and reduction goals, and provide support for energy construction activity, documentation review, energy awareness, energy savings performance contracts (ESPC and UESC) and other energy related activities.
The purpose of the program is to increase the effectiveness of government energy programs by reducing energy and water costs through the implementation of cost-effective programs and practices derived from a review of available data and processes.
Responsibilities- Work toward the promotion, education, and adoption of energy and water resource conservation and management activity assistance necessary to optimize the use of installation utility resources, including natural gas, coal, electricity, water, and wastewater
- Research and identify energy savings projects
- Ensure that energy efficiency and water conservation measures are incorporated into new construction, renovations, maintenance, and operations of energy program actions Support project management activities, e.g., project planning, initiation, execution, evaluation, and closeout
- Provide energy-related project design review comments
- Support energy-related facility repair and construction activities
- Work closely with the Contracting Officer’s Representative, the Contracting Officer’s Technical Representative, the installation energy manager, local site personnel, and other contractors to achieve resource efficiency improvements, cost savings, and other specified energy metrics, such as security and resiliency
- Provide quality control, auditing and analysis/reporting related to utility bills
- Manage and analyze energy meter data to benchmark building performance and to support the development of operational efficiency improvements
