Location: City of Yonkers
Hudson Scenic Studio is a leading provider of custom scenic fabrication, automation, and painted scenery servicing the live entertainment industry.
Location:
Yonkers, NY.
The Senior Estimator / Technical Analyst is responsible for preparing detailed cost estimates by analyzing technical drawings and specifications for custom fabrication projects.
Responsibilities- Prepare budgets and detailed proposals for scenic construction with minimal oversight.
- Propose creative solutions and new building techniques to meet budget, schedule, design, and technical requirements of client.
- Review potential projects with Project Management team identifying construction challenges and potential areas of concern; provide written and oral summaries to PMs.
- Detail materials and methods for construction for pricing.
- Research vendors and analyze historical data to prepare time, material, and labor cost estimates.
- Consult with other Hudson departments including Engineering, Scenic Artists, Automation, Set Electrics, Production Management, etc.
- Solicit and negotiate pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Maintain project records, gather and review historical and live project data to aid in future estimation.
- Deliver recommendations on cost saving initiatives within the pricing and bidding components. Provide CEO with ongoing feedback and analysis on increasing the cost efficiency of estimation price points.
- Review and provide feedback on bids and estimates prepared by others.
- Minimum of 5-7 years in commercial theatre or entertainment industry construction & estimating. Technical Director
- Seasoned understanding of scenic construction and automation.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, and strong AutoCAD skills.
- Experience working with IATSE Local One and/or USA 829 contracts for stagehand and artists a plus.
- Ability to effectively prioritize, execute, and problem solve in a high-pressure environment and work efficiently within given time constraints.
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly.
- Self-motivated; team oriented and highly collaborative work style.
