AboutThe Role
Techno is seeking a Civil/Mechanical Inspector to support a project with civil and/or mechanical work, providing inspection services to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to project requirements. The ideal candidate will play a critical role with inspection activities, providing on-site field oversight to ensure construction is performed in accordance with contract documents, applicable standards, and agency requirements. This candidate will bring prior experience on infrastructure projects, with preferred experience working on fresh water reservoir facilities.
WhatYou ll Do
- Perform construction inspections for civil and mechanical work in accordance with contract documents, specifications, and applicable agency standards.
- Inspect work related to water infrastructure, fresh water reservoirs, pump stations, pipelines, structural components, and associated mechanical systems.
- Document daily construction activities, including field reports, progress photos, quantities, and non-conformance issues.
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and agency representatives to resolve field issues and maintain project schedules.
- Review shop drawings, submittals, and material deliveries for conformance with project requirements.
- Ensure adherence to safety regulations and site-specific safety plans.
- Experience as a Civil and/or Mechanical Inspector on public infrastructure projects.
- Prior experience working with NYCDEP, MTA, and/or PANYNJ projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including pumps, valves, piping, HVAC, and related equipment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting and coordination.
- Experience working on fresh water reservoir projects or water treatment/storage facilities.
- Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering discipline.

The expected salary range for this role in the New York City Metropolitan Area is $50 - $60 per hour. The total compensation, including salary and bonuses, is determined by factors such as experience, skill level, location, and qualifications, which are evaluated during the interview process.
