Position Title: Assistant Director, Finance and Administration

The Assistant Director, Finance and Administration plays a critical role in overseeing the financial and administrative functions of the organization. This position requires a strong background in financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and grant management. The individual will be responsible for building budgets, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. Effective communication and collaboration across departments are essential, as the role involves regular interaction with various stakeholders.

The ability to manage multiple grants and deadlines while maintaining cash flow is vital for success in this position.

Salary Range: $100,000 - $110,000 / Year DOE

Responsibilities:
  • Complete audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations
  • Develop and manage budgets, including grant budgeting
  • Request budgeting modifications as necessary
  • Prepare quarterly financial reports
  • Analyze income, expenses, and cash flow for presentations to finance committees and board meetings
  • Conduct monthly forecasting and variance analysis
  • Oversee monthly reporting processes
  • Supervise one direct report and support payroll review and approval
  • Administer employee benefits and address occasional HR issues
Requirements:
  • 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
  • Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and HR functions
  • Proficient in advanced Excel, including pivot tables and vlookups
  • Supervisory experience is required
  • Experience with audits is necessary
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required
  • Nonprofit experience is preferred
  • Grant budgeting experience is preferred
  • MBA or CPA is preferred
