About the roleThe Legal Counsel will advise on corporate lending, capital markets and a diverse array of other areas for the US commercial banking business of Lloyds Banking Group, working as part of a small, dynamic team, all reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, North America. The ideal candidate will be excited by the prospect of working in a relatively small office that is part of a large global institution, while partnering with talented bankers serving some of the world’s largest and most respected companies.
What you’ll be doing- The position would support the Group’s activities in the United States, which are carried out by LBCM plc, which is licensed by the NY Department of Financial Services and by Lloyds Securities Inc., an SEC-registered broker-dealer, and requires expertise gained from premier experience at a major law firm and/or bank in these primary areas:
- Varied bank credit transactions, including drafting and negotiation of syndicated and bi-lateral facilities for corporate and institutional borrowers, including asset-backed fund finance facilities, term loans, revolving and standby letter of credit facilities, guarantees and other documentation relating to various bank lending transactions, with experience in fund finance, trade finance, letters of credit, working capital and supply chain financing very useful.
- Experience with fixed income capital markets, private placements as well as federal and state regulation pertinent to a New York State-licensed foreign bank, including Bank Holding Company Act requirements, BSA/AML and sanctions, regulatory reporting, and other areas of regulation applicable to bank affiliates and financial holding companies is a very strong plus.
