Location: City of Yonkers

Buyer Responsibilities

  • Review and monitor approved purchase requisitions for accuracy and price trends.
  • Maintain files and records of current and potential suppliers, materials, and prices.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with external vendors and internal customers to secure adequate sources of supply in compliance with corporate policies and procedures.
  • Obtain the most cost‑effective and quality products and services.
  • Collaborate with team members to efficiently implement accepted product conversions, system changes, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Ensure high quality, cost‑effective products or services are delivered in support of client core values and strategic plans.
  • Report directly to the Director of Purchasing.
  • Keep abreast of all Supply Chain Management policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications
  • 4 or more years of applicable experience.
  • High School Diploma or GED (required).
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of purchasing experience in healthcare.
  • Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Demands
  • Sedentary:
    Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
  • Remaining stationary most of the time.
  • Jobs are sedentary if movement is required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met.
Compensation

Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $42,000 – $63,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide‑range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
