OverviewMontefiore Medical Center is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented X-Ray Technologist to join our interventional pain management team. In this specialized role, you will work closely with physicians to perform high-quality radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations during precision pain management procedures. The ideal candidate brings strong clinical judgment, a commitment to strict radiation safety practices, and the collaborative spirit needed to ensure efficient room turnaround and compassionate, patient-centered care.
Responsibilities- Under the direction of the chief technologist or his/her designee, performs radiographic examinations during pain management interventional procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail.
- Performs a variety of technical procedures that will require independent judgment, with ingenuity and initiative to apply prescribed ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis.
- Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required.
- Prepares patient and procedure room, including entering error-free data, ensuring proper linen supply, assisting with patient transfers/positioning, and maintaining a 5-minute room turnaround time.
- Obtains high-quality radiographic images by setting proper exposure factors and utilizing correct patient identification labels and side markers.
- Maintains precise, error-free records of films, fluoro time, and other necessary clinical documentation.
- Strictly observes all radiation safety and patient identification rules, maintaining zero tolerance for misidentification or misadministration.
- Assists physicians with the preparation of contrast materials, syringes, and injection equipment.
- Trains students and other associates, providing accurate and knowledgeable information.
- Ensures the overall cleanliness, orderliness, and safety of the assigned clinical area, and performs other related assigned tasks.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Registered Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) required.
- Valid X-RAY Tech license by the State of NY.
- OHS Annual Assessment & OHS Fit Test required.
- Covering 2 MMG sites:
Bronx East and Cross County.
Shift
: (Part Time) Monday, Wednesday, Friday 0400P – 0930P;
Alternating Saturdays 0845A – 0515P
