Shift: Day, Monday–Friday, 8:30AM–5PM (7.5hrs). This position is primarily onsite as needed.
Application Analyst – Epic IT Team (Perioperative Focus)
Responsibilities- Install, configure, and upgrade application software, components, and modules.
- Provide go‑live, rollout, and ongoing production support for Epic applications.
- Support end users across the Montefiore Health System on applications, enhancements, and issue resolution.
- Analyze application issues and coordinate resolutions with IT, Biomed, and vendors.
- Gather and translate clinical/business requirements into system workflows and configurations.
- Evaluate and optimize perioperative and clinical workflows (Pre‑Op, Intra‑Op, Post‑Op).
- Develop and execute test plans for upgrades, enhancements, and fixes; document results and validate performance.
- Support system implementations, enhancements, and ongoing monitoring.
- Troubleshoot and support Point of Care (POC) and bedside device integrations, including connectivity, data flow validation, device mapping, middleware platforms (e.g., Capsule, UniPOC, Nova Net, Telcor), and HL7 messaging.
- Perform root‑cause analysis for application and device‑related issues.
- Assist in development and maintenance of training materials and provide knowledge transfer to end users.
- Recommend system improvements to increase efficiency and performance.
- Participate in on‑call support rotation (24x7) and provide occasional on‑site support across hospital locations.
- EPIC Certification (or ability to obtain certification as a condition of employment).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Health Informatics, Nursing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3+ years of healthcare IT or clinical systems experience.
- Experience with clinical application support and implementation, troubleshooting application and integration issues in Windows environments, and basic networking principles.
- Strong understanding of clinical workflows (perioperative or inpatient/ambulatory settings) and device integration fundamentals.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Desired EPIC certifications in OpTime, Anesthesia Beaker, and Clinical (strongly preferred).
- Experience with POC devices, middleware solutions (Capsule, Telcor, UniPOC), HL7 interfaces, healthcare interoperability standards, clinical lab workflows, and diagnostics systems.
- Prior experience with Provation, Epic Lumens, or related systems.
- Clinical background (Medical technologist, RN, PA, or similar) is a plus.
