Summary

Position involves mostly routine cleaning/laundry tasks.

As with all positions this position must obtain fingerprint clearance from NYS OPWDD, Child Abuse and Maltreatment Screening clearance from NYS OCFS and pass a drug screening prior to assignment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities for;

Housekeeping

1. Clean and service rooms, bathrooms, offices, and general areas of buildings, including mop and vacuum floors and/or carpets and wash windows as needed.

2. Dust furniture and sanitize equipment used by children such as gym mats, bean bag chairs, potty chairs, etc.

3. Arrange rooms in an orderly fashion.

4. Collect and dispose of trash according to the procedure.

5. Scours bathroom appliances, i.e., tubs, toilets, polish mirrors, brass and metal fixtures, and glass panels in doors and partitions.

6. Replenish supplies of soap, toilet paper, paper towels, paper cups, etc. in all bathrooms and staff rooms.

7. Keep utility and storage rooms in good order by cleaning lockers and equipment, arranging supplies, etc.

8. Observes safety precautions and keeps cleaning supplies away from children.

9. Performs emergency clean-up as needed.

10. Must understand sanitation principles and routines.

11. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

Experience working in a multi-room residential facility

Physical Demands

Kneeling, Bending, Ability to be on feet for hours at a time, ascending and descending stairs. Ability to climb a ladder, ability to manage heavy floor buffing equipment. Heavy lifting.
