Position: Administrative Paid Project Manager Hudson Scenic Studio Yonkers, NY US 07/06/2026
Location: City of Yonkers

Hudson Scenic Studios is a creative fabrication partner for live entertainment, themed environments, and immersive experiences – combining world‑class craftsmanship with engineering innovation to transform ambitious ideas into extraordinary realities.

Opportunity Brief

As Hudson Scenic Studios continues to grow, we seek an ambitious and adaptable Project Manager with experience in theatrical scenery, themed entertainment, immersive activations, or complex custom fabrication to help transform bold creative visions into extraordinary real‑world experiences.

Reporting to the Directors of Project Management and Production, the Project Manager guides projects from kickoff through fabrication, installation, and closeout. You will manage multiple concurrent projects that vary in scale, complexity, and schedule—from fast‑turn activations to large, highly detailed scenic environments. Because many of our builds are entirely custom, our work requires curiosity, flexibility, and a passion for solving problems that don’t yet have established solutions.

Success in this role depends on strong collaboration and clear communication. The Project Manager serves as a central point of coordination between clients, designers, vendors, and Hudson’s internal teams, maintaining alignment on scope, schedule, budget, and technical execution. In doing so, you will help translate creative vision into well‑executed physical work and ensure projects move seamlessly from concept through installation.

Because our work is highly collaborative and hands‑on, this role is primarily based in person at our Yonkers, NY facilities. The position also requires the ability and willingness to travel, as Hudson Scenic Studios helps create once‑in‑a‑lifetime experiences for audiences around the world.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client & Project Leadership: Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, designers, technical supervisors, architects, vendors, and other project stakeholders; serve as the primary client representative from kickoff through final delivery and project closeout; provide project leadership to ensure work aligns with client design intent, technical requirements, and contractual obligations; guide projects through Hudson’s fabrication process while maintaining clear expectations around scope, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Financial Management: Manage project financial performance, including revenue forecasting, gross margin, and cost control throughout the project lifecycle; submit and manage change orders in coordination with clients and internal teams; review project schedules, payment terms, and contract conditions in partnership with the Finance department; review and authorize purchase orders and subcontractor agreements as required.
  • Technical Coordination & Fabrication Oversight: Oversee multiple projects moving through the shop, ensuring fabrication progresses on schedule and within budget; coordinate drawing reviews and key technical milestones with design and engineering teams; partner with the Engineering department to integrate approved drawings into shop fabrication workflows; monitor quality control throughout engineering and fabrication to ensure work meets project specifications and Hudson standards.
  • Production Planning & Resource Coordination: Prepare and maintain fabrication schedules and project calendars to communicate milestones and delivery targets; maintain labor projections and monitor shop resource allocation across assigned projects; ensure project materials are ordered in a timely manner and coordinate closely with vendors regarding deliveries and services.
  • Logistics & Installation Coordination: Coordinate project load‑out schedules while balancing client requirements with warehouse and trucking resources; collaborate with the Logistics Manager on chain motor packages, rigging installations, trucking coordination, and related project needs.
MUST‑HAVE QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree (BS, BA, or BFA) in Theatre Design and Technology, Themed Entertainment Design or Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field that combines technical, creative, and fabrication…
