Job DescriptionThe Teen Center Program Manager is responsible for the daily leadership, coordination, and operational management of the YMCA of Yonkers Teen Center and associated youth development initiatives. This position oversees youth‑centered programming focused on leadership development, mentoring, workforce readiness, recreation, wellness, prevention services, academic support, and community engagement for adolescents and young adults ages 12–21. The Teen Center includes multiple program components, including OASAS‑funded recovery‑support and Clubhouse programming, Y‑Achievers, workforce development initiatives, mentoring programs, wellness activities, leadership development opportunities, recreational enrichment, and other grant‑supported youth services.
The Program Manager supervises staff, ensures program quality and compliance, supports participant engagement, coordinates community partnerships, and maintains a safe, welcoming, and trauma‑informed environment for all participants.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Youth Development, Recreation, Education, Psychology, Public Health, or a related field required.
- Minimum three years of experience in youth development, community programming, prevention services, behavioral health, recovery‑support services, or related fields required.
- Supervisory or Program Leadership Experience preferred.
- Experience with grant‑funded, compliance‑driven, community‑based, OASAS‑funded, or recovery‑support programming strongly preferred.
- CASAC, CASAC‑T, or prior experience working within OASAS‑funded prevention or recovery‑support programming strongly preferred.
- Candidates without a CASAC credential must be willing to obtain CASAC‑T certification within a timeframe established by the YMCA of Yonkers upon hire.
- Strong Organizational, Communication, and Relationship‑building Skills required.
- Ability to effectively engage adolescents, families, community stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of trauma‑informed practices, positive youth development principles, recovery‑support models, and youth engagement strategies preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and organizational management systems preferred.
- Lead the daily operations of the YMCA of Yonkers Teen Center and associated youth development initiatives serving youth ages 12–21.
- Oversee OASAS‑funded recovery‑support and Clubhouse programming while ensuring compliance with all applicable programmatic and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate youth programming focused on leadership development, mentoring, workforce readiness, recreation, wellness, prevention, academic support, life skills, and community engagement.
- Supervise Teen Center staff, counselors, facilitators, interns, volunteers, and other assigned personnel through coaching, scheduling, training, and performance management.
- Monitor participant engagement, attendance, retention, and overall program quality while maintaining a safe, welcoming, structured, and trauma‑informed environment.
- Maintain accurate program documentation, attendance records, incident reports, participant files, grant reports, and operational records.
- Monitor program budgets, inventory, supplies, and operational resources responsibly.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, families, community organizations, government agencies, and youth‑serving partners.
- Support youth recruitment, outreach, engagement, retention efforts, special events, workshops, enrichment activities, and community programming.
- Represent the YMCA of Yonkers professionally in community partnerships, collaborative initiatives, and organizational activities.
