ResponsibilitiesThe Assistant Clinical Supervisor is responsible and accountable for the delivery of patient care utilizing the Nursing Process. She/he implements the Nursing Service standards of care and practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served and the areas of clinical practice. Utilizes the nursing process in the systematic assessment and formulation of individualized plans of care to meet patient needs.
Exhibits critical thinking in the assessment, planning, prioritization, delivery, and evaluation of patient care. Documents data collection and assessments, plans of care interventions and patient responses per policy. Identifies individualized patient/significant other learning needs and implements appropriate measures to meet needs. Provides patient/significant other instruction in accordance with established standards. Demonstrates knowledge, respect, and sensitivity of patient's rights. Serves as a patient advocate.
Assures confidentiality of patient information. Collaborates with other health care disciplines to coordinate patient care activities and discharge plans. Assists Medical Providers with office-based procedures, vaccinations, injections, etc. if required. Assists Medical Providers with patient communication as directed. Assists Medical Providers, Clinical Staff with patient care as needed. Maintains effective and timely communication and cooperative working relationships with both clinical and non-clinical members of the interdisciplinary team and with personnel from other departments.
Coordinates, directs and supervises patient care activities, delegates tasks appropriately and accepts the accountability for her/his professional role.
Currently licensed and registered to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in NY.
BSN preferred. Supervisory experience.
