Position: *Sign On Bonus* Overnight ER Licensed Veterinary Technician
Location: City of Yonkers

Overview

Are you a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) looking to join a team where your skills and passion for animal care will be celebrated? Animal Specialty Center (ASC) is on a mission to provide exceptional care that keeps owners and their beloved pets together for as long as possible.

We are looking to add experienced full-time and part-time LVTs to our Emergency department!

Schedule
  • Three 12-hour shifts (Full-time)
  • Overnights
  • Overnights: 8p – 8a (shift differential)
  • Weekends and Holidays required
Compensation
  • $29 - $38 pending skills assessment leveling
  • Shift Differential
  • M-TH Overnights:
    Base + $4
  • F-Su Overnight:
    Base + $6

Sign on bonus: $2,500 for full-time and $1,250 for part-time for permanent placement on the overnight shift*

Common Skills used within ER as an LVT
  • Venipuncture & IV catheter placement
  • Triage & Assess patients/obtain vitals
  • Critical thinking
  • Providing nursing care/monitoring to hospitalized patients
  • Anesthesia, Surgery prep, Patient recovery
  • Running in-house lab testing & use of Cubex
  • Filling prescriptions/Dispensing oral and IV medications
  • Drug administration
  • Radiographs
  • Provide client education
  • ECG monitoring
  • Advanced CPR
  • RECOVER certification provided for all employees
Advanced skills include
  • Central lines
  • Placing urinary catheters
  • Placing nasogastric tubes
  • Placing nasal cannulas
  • Maintaining indwelling tubes (chest tube, feeding tube)
  • Blood transfusions
