Responsibilities- Trim, cut, wrap, tray, grind, weigh, and display fresh meat.
- Build meat and seafood displays; rotate and discard outdated or spoiled products.
- Ensure product quality, trimming, grinding, packaging, labeling, rotation, and wrapping standards are met.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work area, equipment, and display areas.
- Follow department standards for handling quick-sale items and ensure proper code dating.
- Assist with inventory control, stocking, and rotating products.
- Operate and maintain meat cooler, freezer, and butcher block.
- Use equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, knives, grinders, saws, and labeling machines.
- Complete and monitor daily logs, production charts, and other required paperwork.
- Comply with safety regulations and company policies.

- Operate meat department equipment and computer systems
Educational requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Travel requirements
- Occasional travel may be required

- Compliance with grooming and dress code standards
- Exposure to refrigerated environments (around 35°F) and freezers (as low as
-20°F)

The pay range is a minimum of $28.96 per hour, but no less than the local minimum wage. Starting rates will vary based on things like location, experience, qualifications and the terms of any applicable collective bargaining agreement.
