PositionPurpose
Drive business results, direct team talent, support the store leadership team, and ensure delivery of the legendary L.L.Bean customer experience within an outdoor lifestyle concept retail store. Promote the company's core values of Outdoor Heritage, Integrity, Service, Respect, Perseverance, and Safe and Healthy Living to uphold the brand, culture, and mission of L.L.Bean at all times.
Responsibilities- Operations – Support the Productivity area: maintain a clean, organized stock room; manage inbound freight processing per SOP; replenish sales floor stock; oversee return processes; execute store-to-store transfers; manage omni‑channel business (BOPIS, BOSFS, BISSO, phone call management); adhere to loss prevention policies; model safe behaviors and serve as Safety contact or liaison when needed.
- Customer Experience – Model and foster an environment where service is the top priority; actively seek opportunities to convert customers, drive sales, and build brand loyalty; rally the rep team; act as Leader on Duty to drive conversion and sales; analyze business reports, identify trends, and expand sales initiatives; execute recognition programs and develop meaningful activations; ensure full stocking, size audits, and optimal fitting room service.
- Training – Support and train associates, communicate standards and processes; deliver GUIDE training for new hires and ongoing training; ensure guides perform at a high level and assessments are completed; support store champions and experts; facilitate all new‑hire product training modules; manage employee‑facing communication such as break‑room messaging and startup meetings; model inclusive hiring practices.
- Total Store Accountability – Aide in achieving all financial measures and area‑specific metrics; serve as key holder and potential opener/closer; prepare and communicate daily task responsibilities; recommend staffing adjustments; handle employee issues within defined parameters; provide coaching; contribute to peak planning; manage expenses, payroll, and health and safety.
- Health and Safety – Actively participate in safety programs; report unsafe conditions; enforce safety policies and procedures; maintain cash office per policy.
Associate degree or equivalent with at least 2+ years of retail experience in a comparable retailer.
Skills and Qualifications- Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
- Systems knowledge (POS, Word, Excel) and comfort with social media platforms.
- Capability to build strong partnerships and collaborate to achieve goals.
- Ability to inspire and motivate others.
- High enthusiasm, positive attitude, and inclusive work environment.
- Collaborative work in a retail environment; serve customers and teams from diverse backgrounds.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Flexible schedule (nights, weekends, holidays) and willingness to relocate is a plus.
