Handyperson, Trades ​/ Skilled Labor, Maintenance Technician ​/ Mechanic

Hudson Piers handyman is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep of property. This role helps ensure property remains safe, functional, and attractive for tenants while addressing maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner.

• Plumbing repairs (faucets, toilets, drains, leaks)
• Appliance troubleshooting and repairs (Washers/Dryers refrigerators, microwaves, gas ranges and dishwashers)
• Basic HVAC troubleshooting and repairs
• Basic electrical work (light fixtures, switches, outlets)
• Carpentry repairs (doors, locks, cabinets, trim and windows)
• Drywall patching, painting, and touchups
• Respond to tenant maintenance requests promptly and professionally.
• Conduct routine property inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Prepare vacant units for new tenants, including cleaning, repairs, and cosmetic repairs.
• Perform seasonal maintenance such as drain cleaning, HVAC filter replacement, pump strainer cleaning.
• Maintain exterior lighting and common areas.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, materials used, and closing out work orders with accurate comments added in Yardi/Rent Cafe.

• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, mechanical systems, carpentry, painting, general repair in HVAC and appliances.
• Ability to use power tools safely and effectively.
• Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to climb ladders, kneel, bend, and work in confined spaces.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay starts at $22.00 per hour depending on experience. Benefits such as medical and paid time off will be provided.
