Maintenance Technician

Overview

Maintenance Technician – Full Time, 40 hours per week.

Location:

Yonkers, NY 10701. Base pay range: $54,500 – $77,500.

We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician to diagnose problems, perform repairs, and provide excellent service to residents in our apartment communities.

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for executing maintenance requests and ensuring timely repair and upkeep of the property. Key duties include:

• Diagnose and repair problems in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, major appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, hardware, masonry, painting/wallpaper, water features (pools, spas), and waste management systems.
• Complete assigned service requests and repairs in accordance with company operating standards within a timely manner.
• Ensure vacant apartment homes are rent‑ready and perform turnkey work as required.
• Conduct apartment preventative maintenance and assist in painting interior and exterior surfaces.
• Maintain an incident‑free safety culture by following safety policies and reporting unsafe behavior or equipment.
• Perform hot works including brazing, soldering, and welding within company standards.

• 2–3 years of maintenance work experience with expertise in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Ability to accommodate an on‑call schedule in rotation.
• Strong customer service communication skills.
• Read and understand policies and procedures such as key control, apartment turnover, and maintenance emergency policies.
• Identify cleaning and chemical supplies, read Hazard Communication Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and safely handle chemicals.
• Knowledge of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper usage.
• Basic understanding of emergency systems, shutoffs, locations, and sequence of operations.
• Knowledge of paint types and paint tools.
