Role & responsibilities
The Operations Manager is responsible for the planning, organization, mobilization, and execution of industrial shutdown projects, primarily serving customers in the cement, steel, and aluminium industries.
The Operations Manager will coordinate supervisors, foremen, skilled workers, technicians, helpers, subcontractors, and other resources to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and within demanding shutdown schedules.
Understand the basic operation, maintenance requirements, and shutdown activities associated with industrial equipment.
Coordinate, work around equipment such as kilns, furnaces, mills, ducts, cyclones, vessels, conveyors, hoppers, crushers, and other heavy industrial machinery, depending on the customer
industry.
Understand mechanical installation and dismantling activities associated with shutdown and maintenance projects.
Coordinate with customer mechanical and maintenance teams where refractory and mechanical activities interface.
Identify practical site issues that may affect access, dismantling, installation, maintenance, or project sequencing.
Preferred candidate profile- Approximately 6 - 10 years of relevant professional experience.
- Practical experience in industrial maintenance, mechanical installation, industrial construction, shutdowns, or project execution.
- Experience working directly on industrial sites and around heavy equipment.
- Demonstrated experience managing site personnel, supervisors, foremen, technicians, and workers.
- Project management experience, particularly projects with strict deadlines and significant manpower requirements.
- Experience in cement, steel, aluminium, power, petrochemical, mining, or other heavy industries is an advantage.
- Refractory experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
