Regulatory Compliance Specialist
IMMEDIATE OPENING FOR CONTRACT MANAGER WITH EXPERTISE IN COMMERCIAL AND PUBLIC WORKS CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS.
Job DescriptionThe Contracts Manager is involved in all aspects of contracts; must be able to understand contracts that are complex in nature and perform a wide range of activities and assignments on a daily basis, including change orders, stop notices, construction claims, subcontractor qualifications and agreements, and many others. Prepare all legal documents and work with outside counsel as needed. Establish and update all records of correspondence.
Communicate professionally with a variety of third parties.
Assist internal colleagues across divisions with the following, among other items:
- Contract agreements.
- Contract change orders.
- Stop notices.
- Construction claims.
- Insurance certificates.
- Bonds.
- Preliminary notices.
- Subcontractor packages.
- Leases.
- Licenses.
- Liens.
- Managing Outside Attorneys.
At least three (3) years of hands‑on direct experience with construction contracts within California is required for this position. The successful candidate will also have the following:
- Bachelor's degree or a combination of education and experience.
- A strong working knowledge of customary construction contract language and provisions (prime contracts, subcontract agreements, etc.).
- Skill in managing the preparation, review, negotiation and execution of contracts involving general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers and others.
- Experience managing all aspects of workflow and contracts regarding construction projects (change orders, lien wavers/releases, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Knowledge of California prevailing wage laws and an active (or renewable) California Notary are both a major plus but neither are required.
