The janitor is responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. This includes vacuuming, buffing floors, shampooing carpets, emptying trash receptacles, and replacing trash‑can linings.

• Clean and supply designated building areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, etc.).
• Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities.
• Carry out heavy cleansing tasks and special projects.
• Notify management of deficiencies or needs for repairs.
• Make adjustments and perform minor repairs.
• Stock and maintain supply rooms.
• Cooperate with the rest of the staff.
• Comply with the highest safety and sanitation standards.
• Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

• Observe safety and security procedures and comply with policies.
• Read and interpret written information; write clear statements; communicate orally.
• Do physical work and operate power equipment normally found in janitorial operations.
• Pay attention to detail.
• Follow schedules and keep commitments.
• Follow directions from a supervisor.
• Demonstrate professionalism.
• Manage time efficiently and work both individually and within a team.
