Description We are looking for an Accounting Assistant to support daily financial operations for a manufacturing organization in York, Maine. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing routine accounting tasks with accuracy, maintaining organized records, and working across both payables and receivables. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a steady, detail-driven environment while helping keep core accounting processes running smoothly.

Responsibilities:

- Process vendor invoices, verify coding details, and prepare payments in accordance with established accounting procedures.

- Maintain customer billing and payment records, follow up on outstanding balances, and help ensure timely collection activity.

- Reconcile bank statements and internal financial records to identify discrepancies and support accurate month-end reporting.

- Enter and update accounting data in Quick Books and Epicor while keeping financial information complete and current.

- Review transaction details for accuracy, resolve routine account issues, and escalate exceptions when needed.

- Assist with invoice coding, document organization, and general accounting support for daily departmental operations. Requirements - Experience handling both accounts payable and accounts receivable activities in a business environment.

- Working knowledge of bank reconciliations and the ability to investigate and resolve variances.

- Proficiency with Quick Books for day-to-day accounting entries and record maintenance.

- Familiarity with Epicor or similar ERP systems used for financial processing.

- Ability to code invoices accurately and maintain strong attention to detail.

- Solid organizational skills with the ability to manage recurring tasks and meet deadlines.

- Clear written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with internal teams and external contacts.
