One of our clients, a well-established manufacturer with deep roots in North America, is seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead sourcing strategy and MRO operations across a complex, multi-site operation. This role is more than just procurement—it's about building partnerships, driving cost-saving strategies, and ensuring mission-critical materials and services are in place to keep things running smoothly.

The right candidate will bring a blend of strategic sourcing experience, supplier relationship management, and hands-on leadership—particularly in storeroom operations and high-value negotiations. Familiarity with capital and maintenance initiatives is a plus.

Please note: This is an on-site role based in Northern Maine. Serious applicants only, including those open to relocating to this beautiful part of the country.

A few things this role will include:

• Leading supplier relationships and optimizing sourcing strategy
• Evaluating quality, cost, and reliability to ensure continuous improvement
• Supporting major maintenance and CAPEX projects
• Managing storeroom operations and driving efficiency through key metrics
• Collaborating cross-functionally to support critical business goals

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or supply chain leadership
• A background in manufacturing (pulp and paper experience is a big plus)
• Strong communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
• Someone who thrives on both strategy and execution
• A degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or Engineering
• Experience managing a portfolio of MRO or technical goods
• Familiarity with inflation mitigation strategies and cost reduction initiatives
