Job Description:

The Nebraska Correctional Center for Women (NCCW) is looking for a detail-orientated person to serve as Administrative Specialist in our administration area. This person will perform technical work or services with accuracy, reliability, and efficiency.

Coordinates tours, professional visits, schedules and supervises virtual court hearings.

Works with NDCS communications team to promote NCCW on social media.

Assists with program coverage.

Serves as liaison for litigation, to include investigating and preparing responses for tort claims.

Functions as the public information officer for NCCW. Provides timely responses to inquiries from the public, other state agencies and the courts.

Effectively communicates, organizes, and presents material concisely and accurately.

Works under pressure with good interpersonal skills.

Independently prioritizes work, organize, meet deadlines and multi-task.

Serves as a back-up to the Records Manager.

Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

At least one year of post high school coursework or experience in: administration, office management, accounting, finance, planning, policy analysis and implementation, administrative/management analysis, operations research, program evaluation, research, or similar fields or in a field related to the programs or functions of the employing agency.

Preferred Qualifications:

Work experience in customer service or corrections settings. Proficiencies in Microsoft Word and Excel.

Other:
Valid driver's license is required. Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam, and at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program.
