Faculty Position in Department of Natural Sciences

York University invites applications for a full-time position in the Department of Natural Sciences.

Position is full-time with salary commensurate with education and experience with a start date of August 1, 2025.

Qualifications:

Must be able to teach a variety of lower- and upper-division courses in biology and other sciences including: kinesiology, zoology, ecology, environmental science, agriculture or healthcare. Additionally, the candidate must demonstrate an understanding of lab management. If qualified, the candidate may be considered to be the Masters of Healthcare Administration Program Director. Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D.

A successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, show an interest in the academic and spiritual development of undergraduate students, demonstrate commitment to the York University mission, and be an active member of the churches of Christ / Stone Campbell heritage. York University is a private Christian institution of higher learning affiliated with the Churches of Christ.

Responsibilities (Depending on Qualifications):

* Provide up to 21-27 hours of classroom instruction per academic year

* Service and maintain science laboratories

* Act as a graduate program director

* Participate in departmental assessment

* Serve on campus wide committees as assigned

* Serve on department/division committees as assigned

* Maintain office hours

* Serve as an academic advisor
