Grand Island Public Schools has an ongoing need for substitute teachers. Substitute teachers need a substitute certificate from the Nebraska Department of Education. Wage for substitutes with a Nebraska Teaching Certificate, a State Substitute Certificate or a Local Substitute certificate is $193.44 per 8 hour day. Wage for retired teachers is $208.56 per 8 hour day. Long term pay (10 days or more in the same position) is $227.52 per 8 hour day and $266.96 per 8 hour day for retired teacher substitutes.
