Required:
• Must have Utility Experience related to Distribution Standards
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to work 30-40 hours a week.
• Must have ability to work within the United States without PPL sponsorship
• Preferred of 3 years’ experience in electric utility distribution (15 kV and below) overhead and underground lines
• Must have working knowledge of National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) & National Electric Code NEC
• Must possess strong interpersonal, communications and technical skills
• Demonstrated proficiency with standard desktop PC applications
• Ability to work remote
• Ability to handle multiple projects, to prioritize and organize work effectively, and adjust to changing priorities and workload in a timely, thorough manner
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Position Details (Day to Day Work –“
Job Description ”):
Individual will be involved in the supporting the Distribution Standards team. Tasks that will be included are:
• Develop and update specifications for internal and external applications.
• Communicate with other business group and assist with engineering tasks, peer reviews
• Perform modeling of existing assets in AUD.
In addition to being part of the Distribution Standards team. Individuals will be involved in other tasks listed below.
DER Engineer - Assisting with Distribution Standards with DER related applications
• We expect the contractor to work independently to organize and complete assignments by the set forth and agreed upon schedule
• Prepare & submit standards similar to PPL existing standards in full compliance with all applicable codes/standards such as ANSI, IEEE, NESC, NEC, etc.
• As PPL’s DER Engineer, the contractor, in general, will oversee, review and comment on the work performed by PPL’s DSO team and other engineering groups:
Smart Meter Collars
Invertors
Solar
Energy Storage System
Etc.
