Position Summary

What you’ll do

Walmart is expanding our workforce across local retail stores and is actively recruiting a Senior Manager for Operations Improvement. In this role you will oversee multiple projects by defining the scope of work and project objectives; establishing project activities, deliverables, milestones, and timelines; coordinating planning activities and assembling management plans; tracking changes to plans and ensuring resolution of critical issues; managing the governance of project plans;

identifying resources needed for project completion; monitoring budgets and costs; and delivering presentations, status reports, and other project documentation to stakeholders at regular intervals.

Role Detail
  • Approximately 50% or more travel within the region and maintain Mechanical Contractor Licenses in the state of employment.
  • Work directly with Store Managers and Facility Services Leadership on their facility services needs.
  • Manage content management initiatives by evaluating and prioritizing content requests; designing, developing, automating, and maintaining tools, templates and resources; collaborating on intranet content; providing guidance on platform functionality, communication approaches and content quality standards; ensuring alignment with governance; auditing and tracking content variables; and adapting methods to resolve audit concerns.
  • Direct processes and procedures for areas of responsibility by analyzing data to identify existing standards, processes, governance and workflows; evaluating key business components to assess current performance baselines; identifying areas of improvement; editing existing processes and developing improvement solutions; ensuring programs are simple and executable with manageable rollout plans; consulting with cross‑functional teams to get alignment; ensuring sustainability; and communicating changes and solutions to key stakeholders.
  • Manage behavior change and process improvement programs by evaluating and determining changes; partnering with teams to develop operational strategy; providing guidance on policies and procedures; ensuring proper controls, tools and materials; partnering with stakeholders to ensure alignment and support; monitoring program performance; identifying post‑implementation issues and concerns; and developing and gaining buy‑in on changes and resolutions.
  • Drive the execution of multiple business plans and projects by identifying customer and operational needs; developing and communicating business plans and priorities; removing barriers and obstacles that impact performance; providing resources; identifying performance standards; measuring progress and adjusting performance as needed; and developing contingency plans while demonstrating adaptability and continuous learning.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for associates by selecting and training, mentoring, assigning duties, building a team‑based work environment, establishing performance expectations, conducting regular evaluations, providing recognition and rewards, coaching for improvement, and ensuring belonging awareness.
  • Promote and support company policies, procedures, mission, values and standards of ethics and integrity by training, directing others, ensuring compliance, and supporting the Open Door Policy.
  • Ensure business needs are met by evaluating ongoing effectiveness of current plans, programs and initiatives; consulting with partners; soliciting and applying suggestions for improvement; and supporting community outreach events.
Hard Skill Sets Needed
  • General Facilities Services / Overall Building Maintenance Experience – 3 to 5 years optimal.
  • Electrical, plumbing and/or mechanical experience.
  • Leadership skills – able to lead, motivate and develop others.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem‑solving skills – root cause and breakdown analysis experience.
  • Customer service experience.
Soft Skill Sets Needed
  • EPA Universal Certification.
  • PMP Certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma.
  • Maintain Mechanical Contractor Licenses in state of employment.
