Corrections Unit Case Manager – Nebraska Correctional Center for Women

- Provide supervision and guidance to Unit Caseworkers in the successful performance of unit management operations.
- Monitor incarcerated individuals’ behavior and maintain order within housing units, addressing issues as needed.
- Guide and counsel incarcerated individuals on rules, treatment plans, and rehabilitation programs, including crisis intervention and parole planning.
- Coordinate and document inmate background information and referrals for appropriate medical, mental health, educational, and vocational services.
- Facilitate non‑clinical programming for the assigned incarcerated population.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field.
- OR Associate’s degree in criminal justice, behavioral sciences, human services or related field plus two years of corrections experience.
- OR four years of corrections experience.
Legal Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age. No felony or domestic‑abuse related convictions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supervising/leading teammates.
- Experience managing a caseload.
- At least one year of experience in a correctional setting.
- Experience as a guest instructor, facilitating programs or public speaking.
Additional Requirements:
- Candidates must successfully complete facilitator training and instruct non‑clinical programming.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Transcripts required prior to appointment.
- Acceptance of a job offer requires passing medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, a drug test.
- Successful completion of the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program at the Staff Training Academy.
