Production Shift Supervisor
Our client, a leading Sugar Refinery, seeks a dedicated Production Shift Supervisor. In this role, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and manage the production shift, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity targets are achieved. You will lead a team of direct reports, effectively manage resources, and uphold adherence to health and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Leadership: Demonstrate and promote solid safety behaviors, ensuring strict compliance with safety procedures among all employees.
- Production Management: Take full accountability for overseeing staff, production activities, and meeting quality targets during your shift.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure products consistently meet specified quality standards, holding team members accountable for adherence to quality systems.
- Team Management: Develop and motivate direct reports, fostering a productive and cohesive team environment.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report on production process performance, addressing any issues promptly as they arise.
- Communication: Maintain effective communication with team members to ensure clarity on objectives and tasks.
- Health and Safety Compliance: Enforce health and safety rules and procedures, promptly addressing any related issues during the shift.
- Problem Solving: Utilize strong problem-solving skills and root cause analysis to resolve production issues efficiently.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other Shift Supervisors to ensure smooth production handovers and continuity.
- Training and Development: Ensure employees are trained effectively and safely for their tasks, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
- Resource Optimization: Manage company resources efficiently to optimize operating costs.
Skill & Experience Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma required; some college or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience: 2-3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred, or demonstrated experience without formal supervision.
- Skills:
- Proven experience in safety, productivity, and quality improvement.
- Proficiency in root cause analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Advanced computer skills (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
- Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong leadership and influencing skills.
- Results-oriented and collaborative approach.
