Examiner (Open)

Responsible for administering driver licensing examinations and determining applicant eligibility for driver's licenses, permits, and identification cards. Verifies identity, citizenship, residency, and other required documentation; conducts automobile, motorcycle, and commercial driver license (CDL) testing; evaluates driving performance and compliance with state and federal requirements; processes licensing transactions; provides customer service and information to the public; maintains accurate records; and assists with office operations, fraud detection, and regulatory compliance.

Job duties include conducting driver license examinations, evaluating applicant performance, verifying identity and documents, processing licenses, providing customer service, performing office operations, and other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications include experience working with the public in a customer service capacity or working with motor vehicle laws. Preferred qualifications include experience providing customer service in a public facing environment, experience handling cash transactions, familiarity with state motor vehicle laws, proficiency with computer systems, experience working in a fast-paced office environment, bilingual communication skills, and a clean driving record.

Other requirements include possessing a valid driver's license, maintaining an acceptable driving record, completing agency-provided training, regular interaction with the public, maintaining confidentiality, working independently and collaboratively, dependable and detail-oriented, and regular and reliable attendance.
