Property Accountant - York, PA About the Property Accountant Opportunity:

  • CFS is partnering with an established and growing real estate development and property management organization to hire a Property Accountant to join its accounting team in the York, PA area.   • This newly created Property Accountant position reports directly to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for the full-cycle accounting of a portfolio of approximately 8-10 properties and 7 associations. The ideal Property Accountant will possess strong technical accounting skills, a team-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage multiple entities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities for the Property Accountant:
  • Managing full-cycle accounting for assigned properties
  • Processing accounts payable, including invoice coding, approvals, payments, and vendor maintenance
  • Handling accounts receivable activities, tenant payments, and account reconciliations
  • Preparing journal entries, accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, and fixed asset schedules
  • Performing monthly bank reconciliations and maintaining general ledger accuracy
  • Analyzing tenant ledgers, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and other balance sheet accounts
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly financial statements for assigned entities
  • Supporting lease administration by recording rent payments and monitoring outstanding balances
  • Preparing annual CAM reconciliations and related supporting documentation
  • Maintaining vendor W-9 records and supporting annual 1099 reporting requirements
  • Serving as the primary accounting contact for an assigned portfolio of properties
  • Assisting with audits, special projects, and accounting process improvements
  • Supporting an upcoming accounting system transition and continuous process enhancements
Qualifications for the Property Accountant:
  • 3+ years of property accounting experience required, ideally on the commercial side
    • Experience with full-cycle accounting
    • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and month-end close processes
    • Strong corporate accounting background
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred, but not required
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple entities and deadlines simultaneously
  • A reliable, steady, and consistent work style
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • A collaborative approach to working with cross-functional teams
  • Adaptability and openness to process improvements and system changes


Schedule:
Monday-Friday,40-hour work week (Core hours of 8:00 AM - 3:00 PM with flexible scheduling outside of core hours). Primarily onsite in York, PA, with remote capability when needed
Salary: $70,000 - $80,000
