Payroll Specialist
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join a growing organization and play a key role in managing high-volume, multi-state payroll operations. This individual will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while supporting compliance, tax reporting, benefits administration, and audit activities. The ideal candidate will have strong payroll systems experience, a solid understanding of payroll tax regulations, and the ability to work effectively in an environment that includes manual payroll processes.
Responsibilities
- Manage high-volume payroll processing for 500-1000+ employees.
- Handle multi-state payroll operations and ensure compliance with state-specific regulations.
- Process manual payroll as needed and ensure accuracy in all payroll transactions.
- Administer payroll taxes and ensure compliance with filing requirements.
- Support 401(k) administration and other employee benefits.
- Collaborate with Accounting leadership to improve payroll operations.
- Ensure payroll systems are utilized effectively and efficiently.
Essential Skills
- Extensive payroll knowledge including balancing, controls, and payroll taxes.
- Experience with payroll processing and payroll systems.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Understanding of payroll tax filing and compliance.
- Experience with high-volume and multi-state payroll.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Accounting or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and manage priorities effectively.
- Experience with certified payroll, prevailing wage, and union payroll.
- Familiarity with Viewpoint software.
Work Environment
This position is fully onsite in York with a standard schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. There is some flexibility allowed for family obligations and scheduling needs.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of York, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $58000.00 - $78000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
