The Position
The Administrative Assistant 1 position with the Northumberland County Area Agency on Aging (AAA) offers a chance to support important services that help older adults stay informed and independent. Descriptionof Work
This position supports key administrative and program functions that keep services for older adults running smoothly. It involves coordinating activities, assisting the public, and helping the agency meet important program requirements.
- Program Coordination:
Coordinate the PA MEDI program and support related activities. - Volunteer Support:
Recruit and train volunteers who provide health insurance counseling. - Public
Education:
Provide information to Medicare enrollees and assist with presentations to the community. - Client Assistance:
Guide older adults through applications, appeals, claims, and insurance comparisons. - Report Preparation:
Prepare required reports, review correspondence, and complete administrative research. - Agency Support:
Assist agency departments, participate in trainings, and maintain professional communication.
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30‑minute lunch.
- Telework:
This position does not offer telework options. - Salary:
In some cases, the starting salary may be non‑negotiable.
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Graduation from a four‑year college or university, or any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants who are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credits will be considered to meet the educational requirements.
Other Requirements:
- You must meet the PA residency requirement. [Link is omitted].
- Hiring preference may be given to candidates who live within Northumberland County. If no eligible candidates within the county apply, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
