Responsibilities- Data Entry Accuracy
:
Enter information into agency systems and review results for correctness and compliance. - Application Processing
:
Handle incoming applications, complete clearances, register documents, and distribute materials according to procedures. - Inquiry Review
:
Interpret documents, complete transactions, and record results to ensure all clearances are completed on time. - Telephone Support
:
Answer calls, relay messages, and provide phone coverage to deliver timely communication. - File Maintenance
:
Create, maintain, and update paper and electronic files according to procedures. - Computer Operation
:
Operate office equipment such as personal computers, copy machines, and telephones.
- Full-time employment.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 60‑minute lunch. Travel and overtime as needed.
- Work conditions:
Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment; employees may be reassigned to different sites due to operational needs. - Telework:
This position may be eligible to telework part‑time. Specific details will be discussed during the interview process. - Salary:
Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin at the starting annual salary of $36,108 (before taxes). - Benefits: DHS provides contract pay increases, paid holidays, leave entitlements, advancement opportunities, shift selection, and a great work environment.
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth or equivalent Federal title) OR graduation from high school OR an equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Must meet Pennsylvania residency requirement. Hiring preference is given to Monroe County residents; other counties may be considered if no qualifying candidates within Monroe County.
- Must be able to perform essential job functions.
- Conditional offer will require submission of criminal history reports.
- You must pass a background investigation.
Pennsylvania law (51 Pa. C.S. §7103) provides employment preference for qualified veterans. Veterans may apply through the specified portal.
