Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Under the leadership of the VP of Strategic Initiatives, the Strategic Projects Manager is responsible for leading strategic projects and initiatives that support organizational growth, innovation, and operational excellence, while also identifying, securing, administering, and reporting on grant funding opportunities that align with organizational priorities.
- Develops detailed project plans for new projects and initiatives associated with strategic growth, organizational improvement, and innovation, as directed by the VP of Strategic Initiatives. Project plans include scope, resources, deliverables, risk management, project schedules and timelines, sustainability considerations, stakeholder engagement strategies, and alignment with grant requirements when applicable.
- Utilizes standard project management methodologies, planning tools, and technology to develop, lead, monitor, and assess project teams and project outcomes.
- Assembles project teams and provides project leadership by: scheduling and facilitating regular team meetings, including agenda development, meeting documentation, and action planning. Collaborating with team members and stakeholders to identify and remove barriers to project success.
- Directs and manages project work, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs), project milestones, deliverables, budgets, and overall project performance.
- Ensures projects are effectively transitioned into ongoing operations, including developing sustainability plans and operational handoffs.
- Monitors project progress, manages risks, controls changes to project scope and timelines, and engages stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.
- Documents lessons learned and conducts project closure and debrief meetings to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Communicates project progress, risks, outcomes, and strategic recommendations to the VP of Strategic Initiatives, senior leaders, and project sponsors.
Develops dashboards, reports, presentations, and executive summaries to communicate project status, grant performance, outcomes, and organizational impact.
Grant Development and Grant Writing
- Recommends funding opportunities and grant strategies that support Family First Health's strategic plan, growth initiatives, and community health priorities.
- Develops and maintains a grants pipeline and grant application calendar to ensure timely pursuit of funding opportunities.
- Leads the development, writing, editing, and submission of high-quality grant proposals, applications, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation. This may be conducted in collaboration with a third party grant writer.
- Collaborates with operational leaders, subject matter experts, finance staff, and project teams to gather data, define project scopes, establish measurable outcomes, and prepare grant narratives.
- Prepares and coordinates grant budgets and budget narratives in partnership with finance and project stakeholders.
- Ensures all grant applications are accurate, complete, compliant with funder requirements, and submitted within established deadlines.
Grant Administration, Compliance, and Reporting
- Serves as the primary coordinator for awarded grants, ensuring compliance with all funding requirements, regulations, and reporting obligations.
- Monitors grant-funded project expenditures in collaboration with the project lead and finance to ensure compliance with approved budgets and funding requirements.
- Maintains comprehensive grant records, documentation, agreements, correspondence, and reporting files.
- Coordinates and prepares interim, annual, and final grant reports, including programmatic and financial reporting.
- Ensures all grant closeout activities and final reporting requirements are completed accurately and on time.
